Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! I mentioned yesterday that I had an exciting announcement. Actually, I don't know if you guys will find it that exciting, but I do! This is officially my 100th blog post, and to celebrate I've changed my domain name. Nailedobsession.blogspot is no more! I am now officially nailedobsession.com :) You shouldn't need to worry about changing your bookmarks, as far as I know any old links should redirect to the new domain. If anyone has any problems though please let me know.

So, a new year! I wonder what 2013 will bring. I'm very excited because I have a project I'm working on that is slowly taking shape. Stay tuned, because very shortly I'll be giving hints as to what it is. I hope you guys will be as excited about it as I am.

For New Year's Eve I wanted to do a mani that was bright and shiny, because every December 31st we hope that the following year will be as bright and shiny as it appears in our hopeful minds. I decided to try a mix and match mani for the first time. Here's what I came up with:

Unfortunately the holo effect isn't amplified in these photos. There was no sunlight, and just as I went outside to take photos it started raining on me. Rude! I'll admit that I might have been playing it safe with these nails. I was a bit concerned doing a mix and match mani because I was worried the different designs would look strange together. For a first attempt though I'm quite pleased.

The pink I've used is OPI's 'Elephantastic Pink', the black is OPI's 'Black Onyx', and the holo glitter is China Glaze's 'Techno'. To do the glitter border on my index finger I picked the glitter out of 'Techno'. The stars on my middle finger were stamped using black Konad polish and Konad plate Q1. My thumb nail is the same as my ring finger.

How was everyone's New Year's Eve? Did anyone make any outlandish resolutions they know they won't keep? :p
