Golden Ratio

Hey guys! I'm a little behind in blogging, the polish I'm showing you today I wore while I was studying for exams, and I took photos of it at the time and then forgot that I'd done so until I was getting some other photos off my camera yesterday. Today I'm showing you 'Golden Ratio' by Emily de Molly. This polish was made in a very limited quantity and only sold through Femme Fatale Cosmetics, so it's not available anymore I'm sorry! I'm such a tease aren't I?

Full sunlight - slightly out of focus to show the scattered holo.

'Golden Ratio' is a minty-aqua colour that flashes gold in the light. It also has a scattered holo effect. My photos above show 3 thin coats. Unfortunately the gold flash in it caused a bit of a lobster effect with my skin tone, but the green is an unusual shade and it's quite intriguing and pretty all at once. Despite the lobster-ing of my skin I really love this polish and it's one that I'm sure I'll wear again.

Galaxy Invader

Hey guys! Today I have a post for you that is going to be a little bit photo-heavy (by my standards anyway) because I have an amazing duo-chrome to show you, and of course duo-chromes require extra photos. I don't own many duo-chromes, not because I don't like the concept of a colour shifting polish, but because they tend to be darker shades which I just don't wear much of. After wearing Pretty Serious's 'Galaxy Invader' though I think I might have to change this. I think it's safe to say that 'Galaxy Invader' invaded my heart. I'll let the photos speak for themselves.

As you can see, 'Galaxy Invader' is a blue/teal duo-chrome polish that shifts to purple, and it is amazingly stunning in person. My swatches show 3 coats and it applied like a dream. I even had it on for 5 days with only minimal tip wear.

Pretty Serious ship worldwide and you can buy directly from the website. 'Galaxy Invader' is currently out of stock (and you can see why) but I'm sure Kaz will have stock back in shortly.

And just in case you needed further convincing of 'Galaxy Invader's' awesomeness, here's a video that Pretty Serious put together for you.

An Amorous Disposition

Hey guys! Tonight I have another new Aussie indie label to introduce you to, Arcane, by Bec who most of you will know from her blog Nail Gun XS. Here's a fun fact for you, when I was coming up with the name of my own polish label Arcane was actually in my top 3 choices, luckily for Bec I chose to go with Sayuri ;) I still find it intriguing that we both thought of the same name when it's such an uncommon word.

Before I show you photos, I just want to apologise because I'm not entirely sure that my photos show this polish's true colour. My computer crashed the other day so until I get a new one I'm using a laptop with a less than optimum screen and it mutes colours. Just in case my photos aren't overly accurate I suggest checking out Bec's photos here.

This is 'An Amorous Disposition', a beautiful raspberry pink polish packed with tiny black, red, and holographic silver glitters. Unfortunately there was no sun for a few days when I wore this polish so the holographic glitters aren't too obvious in my photos taken under the lamp. I absolutely love this polish though, the colour is gorgeous and the red glitters really pop when they catch the light. In my photos I've used 3 thin coats and had no issues at all with application.

Unfortunately Arcane is only available in Australia at the moment. Sorry international girls, I know us Aussie's keep teasing you with amazing Aussie indie polishes. Maybe you can all rally together and let Australia Post know that polish isn't as dangerous as they think. Aussies, you can buy Arcane Lacquer from the etsy store or through Femme Fatale Cosmetics.

Eggnogoholic

Hey guys, I'm back! Sorry for my unplanned blogging break, life just got a bit too hectic for awhile there. I really should know by now to organise some guest posts for exam time. When will I learn?

Today I have the second polish to show you that Femme Fatale Cosmetics provided to me for review, 'Eggnogoholic' by Girly Bits. I don't know whether Sophie sent me this polish knowing that I'd love it, but it's right up my alley!

'Eggnogoholic' was released as part of Girly Bits's Season of Sparkle Collection in November last year, and while I believe it was intended as a Christmas-appropriate polish (I can just see it looking awesome with some red/green stamping over the top) it's perfect for all year round. It's off-white base doesn't make it look too stark, and it's filled with gold glitters that lean bronze under some lights. It's soft and pretty, which are 2 of my favourite traits in a polish. I'm also just discovering how much I love neutral polishes, and this one is neutral with just the right amount of sparkle which I love.

In my swatches above I've applied 4 coats (you can get the same effect with 3, but I stupidly kept bumping my nails so I added a 4th), and application was smooth. I've also applied some 2mm square gold studs (from Born Pretty Store) to compliment the gold glitters in the polish.

'Eggnogoholic' is available from Femme Fatale Cosmetics now, there was a Girly Bits restock last night so you'd better be quick if you want to pick up a bottle of this one! Femme Fatale Cosmetics are the only stockist for international indie polishes in Australia, as well as having their own line of nail polishes and powder cosmetics. Shipping is currently only available within Australia (and if you live in Australia I strongly recommend checking out the FFC website as shipping from overseas distributors can be costly for us), but if you live internationally a list of Girly Bits stockists can be found here.

Disclosure note: The product/s in this post were provided for review. This did not affect my opinion of the product/s.

Hey guys! It's still going to be a little quiet around here for a few more days until my exams are done, but today you can find me over at More Nail Polish where I've written a blog post for Cathy while she's away on holidays (oh how I would love a holiday right now!). Please go check it out!
