Halloween Special

*Enter my first giveaway here! Open until October 31st 2012*

Happy Halloween! We don't really celebrate Halloween here in Australia, very few kids go trick-or-treating and I doubt that those who do get given much candy. However, we do love an excuse to dress up and be silly, so it's quite common for people to throw Halloween parties. With all that being said, I give you my Halloween nails:

Overcast light (don't those orange glitters pop!?)

Full sunlight (I only got 1 minute of sunlight so please excuse the sub-par photo)

Close up - full sunlight

Here I've used one coat of Gloss 'n Sparkle's 'Witches Britches' layered over OPI's 'Do You Lilac It?' on all my nails except my ring fingers. On those nails I've done a base of China Glaze's 'Liquid Leather' and used a nail art brush to paint on some stitches (or creepy fences if you would prefer) with OPI's 'A Good Man-darin Is Hard To Find' and 'Plugged-In Plum'. I've then stuck on some pumpkin fimo slices that I got from ebay a while back that I had no other appropriate use for.

'Witches Britches' is Gloss 'n Sparkle's limited edition Halloween polish. If you're in Australia there are still some bottles that can be purchased from the etsy store. For those of you outside of Australia, I believe that Angela will be providing Shoppe Eclecticco with half a dozen bottles when they start stocking her polishes in *hopefully* 2-3 weeks time (exact date is yet to be confirmed), so if you want a bottle make sure you jump on the opportunity. Join the Gloss 'n Sparkle facebook page to stay up to date :)

'Witches Britches' has a purple base (which is a cross between a creme and a jelly) and is packed with black, green (almost teal) and orange glitters in varying sizes. I love that this polish can be worn year round without screaming 'I'm a Halloween polish!'. Opacity can be reached in 3 coats but I'd recommend layering one or two coats over a similarly coloured polish. Application is really smooth and there's absolutely no fishing for glitters. Perfect! :)

Also! For those of you who love Rainbow Honey polishes, they're giving away a full set of the Yokai Collection, which are their limited edition Halloween polishes. Today is also your last chance to buy the polishes before they're removed from the website. Unfortunately being all the way down here in Australia mine still haven't arrived so I can't show you a review, but if you head over to Steffels blog she has swatches :) Click here to enter the giveaway.

So what about you guys? Do you celebrate Halloween in your country? Or is it just an excuse for a select few to dress up and be silly like it is here in Australia?
