Lunairetic

First things first...we did it guys! We reached 50 SUBSCRIBERS! Thanks to everyone who has subscribed so far. This blog originally started out as a place for me to keep track of my nail art attempts, but it's turned into much more than that for me and I'm glad you all want to share in this journey too.  As you know I have a giveaway lined up, and I'll try and have that all sorted and ready to go by Wednesday night so stay tuned!

So, on to today's nail art. As promised, there's no pink (well, very little. You know I can't help myself). You'll have to excuse my nubby little nail on my index finger, sadly it snapped and I couldn't bring myself to cut the rest to match.

Sunlight! I only got 30 seconds of full sunlight, but managed to snap a couple of (sub-par) photos. Check out those holo diamond glitters!

Sadly it was overcast and threatening to rain all day, so I only have one full sunlight shot. I've used one coat of Rainbow Honey's 'Lunairetic' layered over OPI's 'Glitzerland'. I've then done a stripe of OPI's 'Plugged-In-Plum' and secured some 2mm gold square studs from the Born Pretty Store in my clear top coat. The red reflection in the studs in my photos is actually my camera, I didn't realise it was so obvious until I got the photos onto the computer. Oops!

I have to tell you a bit about 'Lunairetic' by Rainbow Honey, simply because this one really surprised me and I'm in love! (But then again, are there any Rainbow Honey polishes that I don't fall in love with?). 'Lunairetic' is from the Chrono Cross collection. Chrono Cross is a Playstation game that was released about 12 years ago. Has anyone played it? I played some of it's predecessor, Chrono Trigger, when it was released on Nintendo DS in 2008 (yes, I'm a dork), but I can't say that I know the story behind Chrono Cross. Nevertheless, I love where Rainbow Honey draws her inspirations from. For anyone who has played the game, Rainbow Honey says that 'Lunairetic' was inspired by Harle's Level 7 tech and the gorgeously bright moon she eclipses.

As you can see, 'Lunairetic' is absolutely PACKED with glitter, and while it is a teensy bit thick, it's also very manageable. If you were concerned about the thickness you could always add some thinner, but personally I'm not going to bother. When I ordered this polish I was a bit concerned that the polish was going to be a bit too 'busy' for my liking, now that I have it in person though I think it's absolutely perfect. 'Lunairetic' contains red, gold, purple and magenta glitters as well as holographic hex and diamond glitters. This isn't one of those glitters where you need to fish for the diamonds either, there's tonnes of them in there. Since I couldn't get a decent bottle shot due to the weather here's the shot from the Rainbow Honey website:

You can purchase Rainbow Honey polishes here. She has also just announced her 'Yokai' collection for Halloween which will be released on October 13th. I'm super excited about the collection even though it's a possibility that orders won't arrive here in Australia in time for the 31st (I've found that shipping tends to take just over 2 weeks). If you want to see the swatches of the collection as she's releasing them you can stay up to date on her facebook page.
