PVA Glue Base Coat Update (3)

Part 3 of the PVA base coat saga! I got it to work! (See parts 1 and 2 to see what went wrong initially). This time I applied the glue using the same method that I did in part 2, leaving a gap of a few millimeters around the edges so that the polish formed a seal over the top. However, this time I added a few drops of water to my glue and for some reason it worked. It lasted 3 days, and I think it could have lasted longer because it wasn't lifting at all but I wanted to change my mani. Sorry guys, no photos this time, but it came off in large chunks like it did in part 2. I used the same removal method as last time, running a cotton bud dipped in remover along my cuticle to break the seal and then using a wooden cuticle pusher to coax it off.

I'm so happy I finally got this to work. If you're having a similar problem try adding a few drops of water to your glue, it might just be the answer!

  1. Nice! I've been waiting to see how this turned out. Just added water? Really? Awesome.

If you do end up doing this again (hoping you will) please let us know if it keeps on working for you. :D

    1. I will definitely be using it again, it makes removal about 10 times easier. I don't mind that you have to wait for the glue to dry before you can polish :) I'll keep you up to date :)
