Somber Pusscat Party

As some of you saw in my last post, I let my boyfriend paint my nails. A lot of you commented on how cute the cat he painted on my thumb was, so I've used that as inspiration for this design. I hope you find it as cute when I do it as when he did it!

The base colour I've used is Emily de Molly's 'Somber Party'. 'Somber Party' is a light grey base with a lilac undertone filled with tiny pink, blue, purple, and holographic glitter. I've used two thickish coats which created opacity, but I could have added a third coat for maximum glittery effect. 'Somber Party' has beautiful smooth application, and it's perfect if you're after a more subtle glitter look.

To create my cats and paws, I used a couple of different sized dotting tools and China Glaze's 'Liquid Leather' polish. This design is easy for beginners, so I hope you'll give it a go. If you're not too confident with drawing the cat or using your dotting tools, do a couple of practice runs on a piece of paper first :) It's a simple design, but effective. I had customers at work asking me where I got my nail stickers from, they all thought I was joking when I said I painted them myself!

Emily de Molly polishes are available from the etsy store if you live in Australia. If you're outside of Australia you can purchase from Shoppe Eclecticco (remember to set the currency to your own, the default is Singapore dollars which makes everything appear expensive). Shoppe Eclecticco will be having a restock of Emily de Molly and Gloss 'n Sparkle polishes later in the week (probably Wednesday). Emily de Molly polishes are also available from Llarowe, however they are completely out of stock at the moment.
